Brennan Willard (aka Jelly Roll) and One Republic Come Together for a New Take on “Hurt”

Making waves at the CMA Awards on November 20, Jelly Roll has come through with yet another exciting announcement. The much-loved country musician has joined One Republic, a Grammy-nominated band, in redoing the single "Hurt," which features on their latest record, Artificial Paradise, released in July. The song and its accompanying music video have also been released.



One Republic: The Tease Did the Job

On this day, OneRepublic took to TikTok and revealed the caption attached to the video. It read, ‘We’ve been waiting for this one.’ The video features Ryan Tedder, the lead band member of OneRepublic, riding a car singing "Hurt." The camera then shifts to Jelly Roll sitting next to him, who continues the verse effortlessly, showing their different yet exceptional styles. In six hours, the full premiere of the project will be premiered on their YouTube channel, providing last-minute anticipation for their collaborating fans.

The Story Behind Artificial Paradise

Artificial Paradise, One Republic’s sixth studio album, is an album that has already given out several older classics such as "Sunshine," "Runaway," and "I Don’t Want to Wait" featuring David Guetta, among others. Other project hits include "Nobody" and "Fire" in collaboration with Meduza and Leony. For years now, One Republic has made its position on the charts known as they gave four top 10 singles on the Billboard Hot 100 including "I Ain’t Worried" (2022), "Counting Stars" (2014), "The Good Life" (2011), plus their collaboration with Timbaland’s "Apologize" (2007).

The Two Performers Will Usher in the New Year with a Jingle Ball Tour

The pair came together after both attended the 2023 iHeartRadio Jingle Ball Tour where they performed. The tour included big cities such as New York’s Madison Square Garden, Capital One Arena in Washington DC, and Philadelphia.
