Duolingo Owl's Demise Leaves People in Awe
On Tuesday, Feb. 11, the highly popular language learning app Duolingo broke the heart-wrenching news that its beloved mascot, the green bird known as the Duolingo Owl, has passed away. The app shared the grim news on social media, adding, "Authorities are investigating his cause of death and we are cooperating fully. Tbh, he probably died waiting for you to do your lesson, but what do we know."

Dua Lipa Reacts to the Drama
In a turn of events, Duolingo's launch also humorously posted a request for Dua Lipa's privacy, noting the Owl's long-time crush on the pop star. "We thank you for respecting Dua Lipa's privacy at this moment," the post ended, noting the Owl's age-long crush on the artist.
Stunned by the news, Dua Lipa grieved the loss on X (formerly Twitter). She posted, "Til' death duo part" with a broken heart emoji in remembrance of the loved mascot.

Lipa's Language Learning Ambitions
The Duolingo Owl must have played a key role in Lipa's language-learning journey. The pop star previously informed a Rolling Stone cover feature that she aims to master several languages by age 35. "I want to learn them all," Lipa said. "I get so jealous when folks are speaking in French, or Spanish, or Italian, and I'm thinking, 'F—.' I just want to have a shot at it. I think I can pick them up quite easily because of Albanian, although it's quite different."

The Mystery Surrounding the Death
Lipa is not alone in mourning the loss of the Owl. The fans have also been mourning on social media. When a fan inquired if there were any suspects in the death of the Duolingo Owl, the app responded humorously, "Authorities are investigating a Canadian rapper currently." The playful response only added to the mystery surrounding the untimely death of the Owl.
