Kanye West’s X Account Deactivated Following Controversial Weekend Rant

Kanye West, officially known as Ye these days, was right in the midst of scalding controversy once again. The rapper made waves when he posed on the red carpet at the Grammys beside his wife Bianca Censori, dressed in a flesh-colored gown that fully covered her body. This public showing made a stir all across social media.

Shortly afterward, Ye revealed in an interview that he has autism, as opposed to his previous bipolar disorder diagnosis back in 2016. He also asserted to have stopped taking his bipolar disorder-prescribed medication, once again fueling speculations regarding his mental health.

Return to X and Alarming Statements

Following his past ban from Twitter (now X), Ye made a return to the platform, where he voiced his support for Diddy and Chris Brown. In particular, he called for Diddy’s release from prison, despite the serious sexual abuse allegations against him.

His remarks soon turned more inflammatory, in particular concerning his relationship with Censori. In one such remark, he asserted "dominion" over her and dismissed feminists, deriding his detractors: "I have dominion over my wife. This ain't no woke as feminist shit. She’s with a billionaire, why would she listen to any of you dumb-ass broke bitches? People say the red carpet look was her decision… Yes, I don’t make her do anything she doesn’t want to, but she definitely wouldn’t have been able to do it without my approval, you stupid ass woke pawns.”

Anti-Semitic Rhetoric and Deactivation of X Account

Ye escalated his rhetoric by retracting his past apology to the Jewish community for anti-Semitic remarks. In an even more shocking statement, he declared himself “a Nazi” and shared additional inflammatory content targeting multiple groups. On February 10, it was discovered that his X account had been deactivated. However, it remains unclear whether Ye removed it himself or if the platform took action against him.

Bizarre Super Bowl Advertisement and Praise for Elon Musk

Amid the controversy, Ye released a low-budget Super Bowl ad for his Yeezy brand. The advertisement, filmed on an iPhone, featured him undergoing a dental procedure. He commented on the unconventional approach: “I spent all the money for the commercial on these new teeth, so once again I had to shoot it on the iPhone. Um… go to Yeezy.com.”

Additionally, Ye made further provocative statements, including expressing admiration for Adolf Hitler. He also praised X-owner Elon Musk, calling him "the most lit person that [has] ever been on Twitter” and claiming that people idolize him. Musk himself has faced criticism for allegedly making Nazi-like gestures during Donald Trump’s presidential inauguration.

Calls for Accountability

Following Ye’s series of controversial posts, actor David Schwimmer, best known for his role in Friends, urged action against the rapper, condemning his hate-filled rhetoric. Schwimmer emphasized the need for accountability, stating that “silence is complicity.”
