Offset Seeks Equal Split of Assets and Joint Custody in Divorce with Cardi B

Former Migos rapper Offset has officially filed legal documents requesting joint custody of his three children with Cardi B: Kulture, Wave, and their youngest daughter, whose name has not yet been disclosed. According to TMZ, he also proposed that Cardi’s residence should serve as the primary home for the children. The rapper has asked the court to determine the child support responsibilities for both parents reasonably.

Offset Demands a 50/50 Split of Marital Property

Besides child custody, Offset is advocating for an equal division of all marital assets between him and Cardi B. He also requested that each party be responsible for covering their respective legal fees, ensuring that neither has an unfair financial burden in the legal proceedings.

A Relationship Marked by Highs and Lows

Offset and Cardi B's romance was not sailing smoothly for the most part. The two became lovebirds in 2017 and secretly wed that September, making their union public a month later. The two welcomed their daughter Kulture in 2018, but before that, they had a short-lived breakup towards the latter half of the same year. Offset and Cardi reconciled in 2019 and welcomed their son, Wave.

Cardi B revealed she was pregnant with their third child and filed for divorce last summer. She addressed the situation candidly on Instagram, explaining the need for change: “Slowly but surely, everybody gotta go their separate ways… My kids gotta get used to that, ‘No, you’re not going to come home every single day, and your dad is gonna be here.’” Despite the separation, the pair continued to come together occasionally for family events and other commitments.

Cardi B Defends Offset Against Criticism

Following the divorce announcement, speculation arose about Offset’s role in their marriage. Cardi B quickly came to his defense on Instagram, stating that he had supported her business endeavors and parenting. She also clarified that she was not seeking child support but expected him to continue covering the expenses he already managed for their children.

Public Accusations and Social Media Clashes

Despite initial efforts to keep matters amicable, their relationship took a bitter turn. In January, Cardi B accused Offset and his mother of stealing from her during a discussion on X/Twitter Spaces. While she refrained from providing specifics, she expressed frustration, stating, “I ain’t listen after you and your momma robbed me. Yeah, you and your mom robbed me cold, and wiped my nose.” Offset has not publicly addressed these accusations.

Meanwhile, Offset came back with his statements, saying Cardi B was cheating. Their fight was taken onto social media, with Offset putting out his single, ‘Ten,’ which seemingly gave a few low blows to Cardi. The lyrics include, "I don't need you, I got money/ I don't miss you, I got money/ Love you, but not like money" and the song insinuates his cheating ways at the time; these lines only contributed to the already simmering conflict surrounding their breakup.

Rumors of New Romances for Both Artists

Since their separation, both Cardi B and Offset have been spotted with new potential love interests. Cardi was seen spending Valentine’s Day with NFL player Stefon Diggs, while Offset has been linked to models Melanie Jayda and Anok Yai, the latter of whom starred in the music video for his track ‘Ten.’

As their legal battle continues, the public remains intrigued by the unfolding drama between these two high-profile artists.
